Bringing all their work to a complete halt, the employees of the local bodies from Monday have started their nationwide protest for indefinite period.

Amid a press conference yesterday, the joint struggle committee had informed that they have come up with a separate protest programmes at the center and grassroots levels.
Immediate enforcement of the civil service bill to ensure professional welfare and rights, security at workplace, and permanent status to the employees working on temporary and contract-basis at the local bodies are some of their major demands.
