In a bid to ensure betterment of Nepali nationals working in Qatar, a labor pact has been signed by two countries on Sunday. The pact aims to better the working terms and condition of Nepali workers.
Minister for Labor and Transport Management Ramesh Lekhak and his Qatari counterpart Dr. Sultan Bin Hasan Al Dabit Al-Dosari inked the agreement in Qatari capital Doha.
As per the agreement, the companies of Qatar will not be able to dismiss Nepali workers without their prior consent and in case of forced termination, the employees will be entitled to get facilities and remuneration of the whole contract period.
As per the provision stated in the agreement, Nepali workers will be deported if found interfering in the internal affairs of the host country. Some 266,000 Nepali workers are reported to have been working in Qatar.
