Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has urged the Chinese government to extend road and railway networks up to border with Nepal. During a meet with a Chinese delegation today morning, the PM made this request.

In the meeting PM Koirala also requested the Chinese government to assist complete the construction of the Rasuwagadi-Syafrubeshi highway as soon as possible. Though, China and Nepal had agreed to construct the Rasuwagadi-Syafrubeshi highway in 2001, and had scheduled to complete it within three years from the date of signing the agreement, the construction of the road has not started yet.

The PM and Chinese delegation led by the vice president of the China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC), also discussed on ongoing peace process in Nepal.

The Chinese delegation is reported to have expressed its support for success of the peace process and holding of the constituent assembly elections in Nepal.
