Rajendra Mahato, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) has said that the government is committed for industrial security as there is lawlessness in the country.
Minister Mahato was inaugurating the 8th Annual General Assembly of Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) Thursday in Kathmandu.
Mentioning the activities of the Maoist youth wing Young Communist League (YCL), Minister Mahato said, “In recent days, there are cases of lawlessness and highhandness seen in the country so the government and the eight-parties should immediately implement rule of law.
Diwakar Golchha, officiating president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) said government should provide easy loan, duty draw back facility to small and cottage industries as they are providing employment at large scale in rural areas.
“Small industries contribute 30 percent of total GDP of India and the Indian government has provided several incentives and facilities to the small industries so the government of Nepal should learn a lesson with India”, Golchha said.
Bijayanath Bhattarai, governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) said the government and the central bank is always committed to help and facilitate small and cottage industries since they are backbone of the economy thus by providing employment to the people.
“Earlier the commercial banks used to finance only large scale industries but in recent days they are financing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as well”, Governor Bhattarai informed.
Governor Bhattarai also stressed that easy loan is not only the solution of entrepreneurship.
