Finance Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat has ruled out the price hike in the petroleum products. Minister Mahat also said the government has no plan to hike the price of petroleum products in near future.

Speaking at Reporters Club today, Finance Minister Mahat informed that the government has already subsidized 5 billion rupees to the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC). He also made it clear that the government could not provide additional amount to the NOC now.

Responding the queries of the media people, Mahat said that Nepali Congress (NC) was ready to quit the government stating that PM Girija Prasad Koirala was wishing to hand over the government in democratic manner.

He further said that the NC would quit the government once the provision of requiring two third majority to change the PM would be amended and president as the head of the state would be nominated.
