Inducting five ministers in vacant ministries, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today reviewed the government.

The PM has appointed five ministers in different ministries which were vacant after one of the ruling allies CPN-Maoist quitted the government.

The CPN-Maoist had submitted names of seven leaders led by spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara to Prime Minister to be inducted in the vacant ministries yesterday.

Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been inducted as minister for Information and Communication, Dev Bahadur Gurung minister for Local Development, Matrika Yadav minister for Forest and Soil Conservation, Hisila Yami Minister for Physical Planning and Works and Pampha Bhusal as minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare.

The Maoist had proposed the names of Padam Rai and Nabin Kumar Bishwakarma for state ministers. However, they have not been inducted. The Prime Minister has given continuity to the State Minister for Labor and Transport Management Ramesh Lekhak and State Minister for Water Energy Gyanendra Bahadur Karki in the same ministries.

The newly appointed ministers are to be administered the oath of their respective offices on Monday. Meanwhile, the cabinet meeting held today has appointed Durgesh Man Singh, as an ambassador for India.

Singh was appointed after the government withdrew its earlier nominee Shailaja Acharya on health grounds.
