SAARC charter day observed

The 22nd anniversary of the signing of the Charter of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was observed across the region today.

The Foreign Ministers of the SAARC member nations jointly met with Indian Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh in New Delhi today morning.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the decisions made by the ministerial meeting on Friday and issues of interests of SAARC. 

The SAARC Charter was signed during the first summit held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on December 8, 1985. 

Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan are included in the SAARC.
