Dead body of journalist Birendra Sah has been found in a jungle of Bhaumathghat near Tagiya of Dumarwana Village Development Committee-7 in Bara district, Nepal Police said. Journalist Sah was killed by the Maoist on October 5 after being abducted.
The family of Sah identified the body on the basis of the spectacles and clothes he was wearing at the time of abduction. The police that was searching late Sah's dead body in the possible locations for last four days found the body today.
The Maoists had buried Sah after shooting him dead.
Meanwhile, the National Network of Weeklies and Fortnightlies (NNWF) has requested all the broadcast and print media to boycott the positive news and articles related to the CPN-Maoist till December 1.
The meeting of NNWF held Wednesday took this decision. The meeting has also urged the central leadership of the CPN-Maoist to express commitment of ending the violent activities, apologize publicly for killing journalist Birendra Sah and hand over the culprits to the police.
Different chapters of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) of mid and the far-western Nepal have also decided to black out all the news related to Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula and the CPN- Maoist.
Journalists in Banke district have decided to boycott the programmes organized by the CPN-Maoist. Similarly, Kailali chapter of FNJ has also decided to continue to black out all news related to the CPN- Maoist and boycott all its programmes until Maoist chairman Prachanda apologizes for the murder of journalist Shah. It also demanded that Maoist should hand over the murderer to the government.
Parsa chapter of FNJ has handed over a five-point memorandum to CDO Deepak Kumar Joshi urging the government to declare Birendra Shah a martyr.
