International Consumer Rights Day has been observed all over the world, including Nepal on Thursday. Every year, March 15th is celebrated as International Consumer Rights Day to mark the day when rights to customers were guaranteed.
Various organizations, involving in the goodwill of the consumers marked the day with the slogan "Stop the inappropriate business dealings of pharmacy businessmen."
Action Aid Nepal and South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment jointly organized an interaction on 'Question of consumers' rights on medicine business on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, speakers discussed about the corruption and deception in selling and prescribing medicine and the ways to build reputation of medicine business.
On the occasion, Suresh Prasad Pradhan, chairperson of Nepal Chemist and Druggist Association, Nabin Prasad Shrestha, senior medicine manager of Drugs Management Department, and pharmacist Balkrishna Shrestha spoke on the subject.
