Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala has expressed his commitment to hold the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls on scheduled date, April 10.
Responding to queries of journalists after a meeting held at his official residence in Baluwatar with the visiting delegation of a major Indian ruling party, Congress (I), the PM expressed his commitment.
PM Koirala assured to hold the CA polls after solving all ongoing political problems prevailing in terai region of the country.
The Indian Congress (I) team led by former Indian Chief Minister Digvijay Singh said that they found political party leaders committed towards the April 10 CA polls.
The delegation also called on CPN-Maoist Chairman Prachanda and Terai-Madhes Democratic Party chief Mahantha Thakur and other Madhesi leaders today.
The delegation is due to publicize its opinion amidst a press conference before wrapping up the three-day visit.
The delegation will submit its report to Congress (I) President Sonia Gandhi and Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh upon reaching India after the visit.
