Supreme Court (SC) has issued order in the name of government and vice president Paramananda Jha to furnish the reason of taking oath of the office in hindi language within a week. The SC has issued order for the clarification to the office of prime minister, cabinet and vice president.

Responding to the petition filed by advocate Bal Krishna Nyeupane, the SC issued the order. Petitioner Neupane, in the petition, has demanded to invalidate the oath vice president Jha has taken claiming taking oath in hindi language was unconstitutional. Petitioner Neupane has also demanded that vice president should be deprived of his official duty. However, the SC has said there was no need to issue interim order in this regard as president himself is bearing presidential responsibility.

Advocate Tika Ram Bhattarai, Kumar Regmi, Madhav Basnet and Raj Kumar Thapa had pleaded the case on behalf of petitioner today.

Meanwhile, eight student unions have staged demonstrations against vice president Jha’s act of taking oath in hindi language accusing him of disregarding Nepali language.
