A meeting of the UN officials, Maoists and the government representatives that began at the Summit Hotel in Lalitpur today decided to start the second-phase registration from May 1.
The meeting of the Joint Monitoring Coordination Committee (JMCC) also reviewed the registration and storage of arms of the Nepali Army, which had completed recently.
The meeting also focused on management of 96 weapons owned by the Maoists for the security of their leaders.
The issue of the PLA members leaving the cantonments recently to protest the Election Commission's statement on constituent assembly election timetable was also the agenda of the discussion.
Earlier, in similar incidents, the UNMIN had notified the Maoist leadership that leaving cantonments is violation of peace agreement.
According to earlier agreement reached in the JMCC meeting, the second phase of the registration of the PLA would begin soon after the storage of NA arms completes.
