VDC secys halt official works

VDC secretaries across the country halted their official works for a day as part of their pre-scheduled protest program on Sunday.

The VDC Secretaries Rights Protection Centre said they were compelled to continue the strike as the government failed to fulfill their demands.

The secretaries have been carrying out strike every Sunday for three weeks now, protesting the government’s failure to implement the 9-point agreements it had signed with them in July.

The Centre has further warned to indefinitely close down the local bodies if the demands are not met even after these protests programs.
