Special security force deployed in capital, Terai

Responding the accusations to the government for not acting as a presence of the state in the Terai region of country after much damages and violations in the region, the government has decided to deploy special security force.

The Home Ministry has deployed a special security force in the capital city and eight other districts in Terai from Saturday for improving the deteriorating security situation in these places.
 
The special security squad comprises at least 20 Nepal Police and 30 Armed Police Force personnel.

Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Siraha and Saptari are the eight other districts apart from three in the Kathmandu valley where the special security team has been deployed.

The special security team has been given the authority to carry out raids in suspicious places, security checks in different parts of the district with the help of local police and can also hold suspicious persons in their custody for investigation purposes.

According to a source at the home ministry, the team would also arrange security for high-level government officials and political party leaders.
