Visiting communist leader of India, Sitaram Yechuri has said India won’t have any kind of disagreement if republic is established in Nepal. “India whole-heartedly supports the initiative of Nepalese people to build new and prosperous Nepal”, Yechuri said Wednesday in an interaction programme organized by the Reporters Club in Kathmandu.

He said India wants institutional development of an inclusive and participatory democratic system in Nepal.

He further opined that sooner or later the constituent assembly election in Nepal is inevitable.

“Jana Aandolan II has established a new era in Nepal and the popular spirit of the mass movement is the constituent assembly election”, Yechuri said.

He further said India wants Nepal government and the election commission of Nepal hold the election of constituent assembly at earliest.

Talking about monarchy, he reiterated it is up to Nepalese people to decide the fate of monarchy and India will consider the decision of Nepalese people regarding monarchy or whatsoever.

A member of an influential faction in the present coalition government of India, Yechuri was invited by the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala in Nepal.
