Constitution amendment bill tabled in parliament

A bill which seeks to introduce third amendment in the constitution has been tabled in the meeting of the Interim legislature Parliament today.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Narendra Bikram Nembang presented the amendment bill at the start of the House session. 

The bill seeks amendment in the Article 33 (a) of the interim statute. 

Speaker Subas Nembang informed the lawmakers that the House would open discussions on the bill from its next sitting, on Wednesday. 

Interim parliament has been adjourned till Wednesday 11:00 am after adopting the bill for third amendment in the interim constitution. 

Based on a consensus at the seven-party meeting, the government had registered the bill at the parliament secretariat yesterday.

Speaker Nembang also informed that the resignation tendered by Mahanta Thakur was approved and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel would hold the responsibility for the same ministry.
