SPA leaders express commitment to hold fair and peaceful elections

Seven political parties in ruling ally have expressed commitment to hold the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in a fair and peaceful manner. The top leaders of Seven Political Party (SPA) reached agreement to this end in a meeting held at Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala’s official residence in Baluwater today.

They have also agreed to fully adhere to the Election Code of Conduct and to direct their respective party leaders and activists to avoid violent activities. Likewise, the government has committed to improve the law and order situation in the country.

UML leader Rajendra Pandey informed that the SPA has reached an understanding to probe into the recent attacks and not to repeat such activities in the future. The top leaders have jointly expressed commitment to abide by the Election Code of Conduct and instruct activists stop disruptive activities at a time when political parties are busy to slam each other.
