Banda hits hard to the industries in eastern Nepal

Banda (general strike) called by different groups has hit hard to the industries in eastern Nepal. Following a few days, industries, shops and market places have been shut down in the region.

Day after day, several groups have been calling banda sparking millions of loss in industrial areas.

The banda called by Samyukta Tharu Rastriya Mukti Morcha on Wednesday crippled life in eastern Nepal. The Morcha has called nationwide banda to pressurize the government for the assurance of the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls and adoption of fully proportional electoral system. 

Similarly, Sanghiya Loktantrik Manch, Limbuban and Khumbuban Mukti Morcha and Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum led by Kishor Bishwas have also called indefinite banda.

Due to the banda, all the academic institutions, industries, and shops have been shut down in Biratnagar, Sunsari, Morang, Itahari, Siraha and Saptari.

Meanwhile, Police has arrested 30 activists of Limbuban Mukti Morcha deployed to succeed banda in Pathari of Morang district. 

An identified group has torched a parked bus in Rajbiraj.
