Normal life in the mid-terai region of the country has been paralyzed in the second consecutive day of indefinite strike (banda) called by United Democratic Madhes Front (UDMF).
Vehicles plying to and from Birgunj have completely come to halt while industries, educational institutions and local markets have remain shut.
Cadres of the Front had vandalized a tractor registered as Na 1 Ta 8342 and another whose number plate was unidentified at Gandak Chowk in Birgunj on Wednesday. The irate cadres also vandalized two motorcycles citing that they defied indefinite strike.
Similarly, Kalaiya, Parwanipur among other places in Bara district were paralyzed by banda. Long route vehicles plying from Kalaiya have come to complete halt due to banda while educational institutions and local markets have remained shut.
The banda has affected life in Rautahat, Janakpur, Siraha, Saptari among other districts in the eastern region.
UDMF has called indefinite strike in the terai region from Wednesday.
