Over 80 people were killed and 75 were abducted in ten districts of Terai region in the last six months, said a report prepared by an organization working in human rights.
The report disclosed by the regional office of HimRights in Hetauda said 20 vehicles and 35 individuals were looted and the districts saw 32 incidents of bomb blasts between May/June and October/November.
Prem Dahal, staff of the organization said Bara district witnessed the highest number of killings. 23 persons were killed in Bara district during the period. The report includes the incidents in ten districts – Bara, Parsa, Dhanusha, Saptari, Siraha, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Rautahat, Sunsari and Morang.
According to the report, three were killed by Maoists, 30 by different factions of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM), 12 by unknown groups, 11 by government security forces, four by Gorkhaland group and three by Madhesi Liberation Tiger; and two died in bomb blast.
