Janakpur-Jayanagar railway service resumes

The Janakpur-Jayanagar railway which was deserted since last Friday for the indefinite period resumed from today. Madheshi Labor Forum close to the Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum (MFJ) had sparked the closure with seven-point demands.

The talks held between Railway Service Committee and Forum Wednesday night agreed to resume the railway service. The Forum withdrew the railway strike after the railway service management expressed its commitment to meet the demands by November 18 raised by the Forum.

The Forum has demanded the permanent appointments to the workers who have been serving on daily wage-basis for more than 15 years, and increment of salary among other.
