Labour Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dr. Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Kaabi arrived in Kathmandu on Monday for his three-day official Visit to Nepal.

According to a source, Nepal and UAE are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Tuesday afternoon relating to manpower export in UAE.

The MoU is going to be signed at a time when there are reports of Nepalese migrant workers not getting proper salary, service benefits, medical facilities in the UAE have appeared.

The UAE is one of the most attractive destinations for foreign employments from various countries, including Nepal.

According to a recent data by the Department of Labor and Employment Promotion (DoLEP), the number of Nepalese workers leaving for UAE has increased by 32 percent to 20,512 during the 11 months compared to that in the same period last year.

This is the first time any UAE labour minister is visiting Nepal.
