Visiting British Minister for International development Gareth Thomas has pointed out that making sure of law and order would be one of the key challenges for Nepal in the days to come.
Speaking at the press conference in the capital on Tuesday, Minister Thomas also opined that making sure of acceptable Constituent Assembly (CA) election and inclusive political process were other challenges for the government of Nepal to cope with. Stating that CA election should be the genuine political agenda, Minister expressed hope that the government would hold the election in the stipulated time.
Responding to the queries of the media persons, he said the legislatures of the Interim Legislature Parliament and political leaders were strictly committed to hold the election in time, when he met with them.
"I'm sure that people want election and political parties are committed for fair and credible election" he added.
Minister Thomas, who is the first representative of an overseas government to visit Nepal after interim government was formed, also stressed that Maoist need to be establishing force without resorting violence as they have already signed up as a part of mainstreamed political force.
During his arrival in Nepal, Minister Thomas had announced 13 million pound in aid for Nepal Government led Peace Trust Fund and at least 23.5 million pound in debt relief until 1015.
According to the press release issued by Department for International Development (DFID), it would make an additional 6.5 million pound available for Peace Trust Fund, depending on progress made on public financial management.
