United Madhesi Democratic Front (UMDF) has said it would not sit for talks with the government unless the latter makes its stance clear.

Leader of UMDF Rajendra Mahato said it would be useless to sit in talks unless government makes its official stance clear.

Another leader Sarbendra Nath Sukla said it was also necessary to hold talks with armed groups agitating in terai region.

Despite repeated appeals to the Madhesi agitating groups to sit for dialogue, the indefinite strike (banda) called by United Madhesi Democratic Front (UMDF) has not been withdrawn.

The banda has crippled normal life in Janakpur, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Siraha, Saptari among few other districts in terai region.
