Life across the country continues to be paralyzed due to indefinite strike (banda) called by United Madhesi Democratic Front (UMDF) and few other agitating terai groups that has reached the 12th day on Sunday.

Local administrations have imposed curfew in various parts of the country, however, the situation hasn’t yet completely returned to normalcy.

Local residents in various districts have started facing scarcity and shortages in daily necessities as market places and vehicular movement have completely come to halt.

Meanwhile, people in some of the districts defied the strike and curfew in some areas after facing extreme difficulties.

Life in Biratnagar returned to normalcy to some extent after the Morang district administration relaxed the curfew imposed in the city from 4 am today.

Similarly, the Sunsari district administration has imposed indefinite curfew in the Sunsari section of the East-West Highway and Koshi Highway.

Likewise, the 10-hour long curfew clamped in Sonapur Industrial corridor has also been put-off.

Police arrested two of the demonstrators while they tried to stage protest in Duhabi, Bhanatbari and Inaruwa among few other areas.
