Third largest party in the Constituent Assembly CPN-UML has ruled out participation in the coalition government to be formed in Maoist leadership. The UML leaders have set condition that they would not join the government until the Maoist activists specially cadres of Young Communist league stop the unruly activities.
Speaking at a programme organised to mark the memory day of late UML leaders Madan Bhandari and Jib Raj Ashrit at the party central office at Balkhu in the capital today, newly elected UML General Secretary Jhalanath Khanal said that there was no environment of confidence in Maoist activities. He suggested the Maoist to create an environment of trust as it was essential to move ahead by working together.
The new UML stalwart also stated that the end of monarchy was certain and warned that the people would destroy those who try to create obstacles in this process.
On the occasion, former UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal alleged that the Maoists failed to create an environment of trust though it was necessary to have coordination among the parties to fight the impediments against the change.
He also said that the anarchic activities of the Maoist were likely to pose a serious threat in institutionalising the achievement of the people’s movement.
