United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) is to continue monitoring arms in Nepal, said UNMIN chief Ian Martin.
Martin who was in Biratnagar to officially terminate UNMIN's Biratnagar office On Sunday said the UNMIN would continue monitoring arms despite the termination of regional offices. "UNMIN would assist peace process in Nepal from central office of Kathmandu" he said.
Meanwhile, UNMIN chief Martin had briefed Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on the activities carried out by UNMIN so far.
Meeting the PM Sunday evening before he departs for UN headquarter in New York tomorrow, UNMIN chief Martin also informed about the activities to be undertaken by UNMIN in the days to come. In the meeting, the PM had underscored the role of UNMIN to lead peace process of Nepal towards success.
