A meeting between UNMIN (United Nation Mission in Nepal) chief Ian Martin and Prachanda, president of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) held on Sunday, has decided to start the verification of Maoists' arms and armies from Tuesday.
Previously, the Maoists had urged UNMIN to stop the process following the murder of its senior youth leaders by cadres of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) in Rupandehi district.
The verification of Maoists' arms and armies was scheduled to start the verification process last week.
UNMIN will verify more than 30,000 PLA fighters and some 3,000 arms of the Maoists.
The Joint Monitoring Coordination Committee (JMCC), a representative body to monitor arms and armies of the Maoists and the Nepali Army, has already agreed to start the verification process from Chulachuli cantonment in the eastern region.
