The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday has decided to extend the tenure of United Nation Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) for six months.
Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan had proposed to extend the tenure of UNMIN in earlier meeting. Minister for state of Water Resources Gynendra Bahadur Karki informed that according to the decision of the cabinet, the government would send letter to the United Nation requesting to extend the tenure of UNMIN.
The meeting also decided to implement the special security arrangements in the terai region to stop the ongoing violent activities and anarchies.
Earlier, the meeting was said to decide the issue of appointing the secretariats, however, Health Minister Giri Raj Mani Pokhrel informed that the meeting conclude without reaching to any conclusion.
