UN welcomes new agreement between the parties

The United Nation (UN) has welcomed the new agreement reached between the political parties in Nepal towards holding the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls with in the mid-April 2008.

Issuing a press statement, UN has also appreciated the decision of Maoist to rejoin the Interim Government.

Quoting to the Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, the statement further stated that the Secretary-General has urged all parties to move forward in the implementation of the agreements reached and lay the grounds for a peaceful, inclusive, and credible CA polls.

The statement has also assured that the Secretary-General and the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) to stand ready to extend all necessary assistance in the peace process.
