VDC secys announce protest programs

Demanding their security, VDC secretaries have announced fresh protest programs today.

At a press conference in the capital today, the VDC Secretaries Rights Protection Centre announced nationwide protests against growing attacks, extortion and abduction of secretaries.

President of the Centre, Bhawani Prasad Ghimire accused that the government has failed to implement the 9-point understanding it had reached with the Centre some months earlier.

The VDC secretaries have declare to enforce strike on every Sunday, for one month, in local bodies beginning from December 9. It has also decided to enforce 8-day strike (banda) from January 6.

Similarly, they also announced that they would be closing down the local bodies indefinitely if the demands were not met.
