Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Matrika Yadav on Friday has decided to withdraw his decision to resign the cabinet.
Citing a lack of cooperation from the government, Minister Yadav on Thursday had tendered resignation to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala through Minister for Communication and Information Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who is also the parliamentary leader of the CPN-M.
According to sources, Minister Yadav took back the resignation after holding an extensive meeting with Prachanda Thursday night.
Minsiter Yadav, who also heads the Madhes front of the Maoists, is one of the five ministers in the cabinet representing the CPN-M.
In his resignation letter Minister Yadav had shown dissatisfaction over the ongoing talks with "criminal groups" operating in Tera. He had charged the government of helping the anarchists and criminals in Madhes by holding orchestrated talks instead of controlling their activities.
Minister Yadav had also accused the Home Ministry of supporting the smugglers involved in smuggling of the precious red sandalwood.
Likewise, Yadav had alleged that the Ministry of General Administration was acting like an opponent by not supporting the forest ministry’s decision to transfer some employees to rein in the corrupt ones.
Yadav also had expressed anger that many of Maoist actvisists continue to remain detained.
