Normail life in Kathmandu Valley remained paralyzed due to a bandh jointly called by the Joint Republican Dalit Front (JRDF) and Tamang National Republican Front (TNRF).

JRDF and TNRF organised the bandh to press government for restructuring of the nation through Constituent Assembly (CA) polls and “special rights”.

All educational institutions, transport services and market places remained closed. Only few ambulances, tourist vehicles, and some motor cycles were seen plying on roads.

Activists of both fronts could be seen at major streets of the capital to enforce their bandh.

Protestors burnt tyres and obstructed vehicular movement at Gongabu, Kalanki, Koteshwore, Chabahil, Ratnapark and other intersections of the capital.

Police detained at least 21 persons from different places on the charges of trying to vandalise the vehicles plying the road during the bandh. The police arrested them from New Road, Koteshowr, Thapathali, Bagbazaar, Naya Baneshwor.

Meanwhile, accroding to reports, the bandh called by the TNRF demanding autonomous Tamang state paralyzed life in Makawanpur, Dhading, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dolakha, Kavre, Sindhupalchowk and Chitwan.
