The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is scheduled to reduce the load shedding duration from Friday.
NEA has informed that the load shedding time will be trimmed to only 12 hours per week instead of six hours a day.
Issuing a notice Thursday, NEA informed that the power cuts during 9am to 12pm in the capital and 2pm to 5pm; and the power cuts effective during 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2:30pm to 5:30pm outside the capital have been cancelled.
According to the head of the NEA's System Operation Department chief Sher Singh Bhat, there will only be three hours of power cuts for four days in a week, two in the morning and two in the evening.
Bhat further informed that the load shedding schedule had been trimmed down because now there was adequate water running in the rivers and reservoirs for sufficient electricity generation.
