Capital city Kathmandu has seen acute fuel shortage due to the failure of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to import petroleum products for a long time.  There is no sign of fuel shortage recovery as still it may take a few days to import petroleum products from India.

Executive Director of NOC Digambar Jha said there is no stock of oil in NOC depots. He also ruled out the import of oil till tomorrow from India.

Meanwhile, minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply Shyam Sundar Gupta said around one hundred oil tankers have been sent to India to import oil and petroleum products as soon as those tankers come back to Kathmandu.

Fuel shortage has hit Kathmandu people hard as the vehicular movement has thinned in the roads of Kathmandu. Serpentine queues are visible in the petrol pumps. However, petrol pumps have already been unfilled.
