Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) is organizing Nepal Software Expo - CAN Softech-2007 from May 2 in Kathmandu.
The four-day event, to last till May 5, will feature Nepal’s latest development in software, BPO, computer solutions and other related industries.
Inspired by the overwhelming success of CAN InfoTech shows for the past 13 years, the CAN Softech show is being organised to meet expectations for people in software and related sector, said Biplav Man Singh, president of CAN. It will also serve as a platform to highlight Nepal’s strength in software development, BPO and IT solutions, he added.
60 different companies including four from India, three from South Korea and one from Sri Lanka are showcasing their products and services through 77 stalls during the CAN Softech-2007 to be held at the newly-built United World Trade Centre, said Amrit Bahadur Thapa, coordinator of the event.
According to him, the event is expected to lure about 30,000 quality visitors, where two separate halls have been arranged for demonstration of products and services. Business meeting room, telephone and internet facilities in each stall are some of the features of the event, which will facilitate both exhibitors and customers to experience a real virtual world, Thapa said.
The event is coinciding with a plenary meeting of Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO), which will take place in Kathmandu on May 1 and 2. ASOCIO is an organisation formed by leading ICT organisations of 26 countries in Asia and the Pacific region.
