Citizens Bank International Limited has started its operation. The bank established as 20th commercial bank of Nepal has an immediate paid up capital of Rs. 560 million and authorized capital of two billion.|
During the inauguration ceremony, Finance Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat urged bank to go rural areas as well as develop the institutions of banking there. He also stressed on the urgency of long term investment in various sectors opining that the commercial banks should lead the economic development of the country.
The chief executive officer of the bank, Rajan Singh Bhandari expressed his commitment to total transparency and promised 100 percent compliance with all the rules and regulations of the country.
On the occasion, former vice chairperson of the National Planning Commission delivered vote of thanks.
The bank is promoted by some leading industrialists and intellectuals of the country.
