Industrialists and traders of industrialist zone Hetauda have asked the government to provide relief package for the loss they faced during Terai unrest.
They have sought exemption in tax, fees and bank interests for the period of bandas and strikes when they could not operate their businesses.
Submitting a memorandum, signed by Rishi Ram Ghimire vice president of Hetauda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to the Regional Administration, businessmen have urged the government to declare transportation as strike-prohibited sector. Similarly, they have also sought simple processes and cooperation from financial institutions for rescheduling their loans.
The memorandum said Terai unrest had obstructed transportation affecting import of raw materials and marketing of manufactured goods. On the other hand, the problem of load shedding for hours forced industries to reduce production sharply, it added.
“We request the government not to impose load-shedding in industrial areas and suggest that it install a separate feeder for the purpose,” read the memorandum.
