Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) has provided 158 bicycles, other accessories and stationary to seven NGOs of Nepal.
These materials were collected by JOICFP from the Municipal Coordinating Committee for Overseas Bicycle Assistance (MCCOBA) and other organizations in Japan for the 7 NGO partners of the European Union/UNFPA Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in Asia (RHIYA) program in Nepal.
The Seven partner NGOs-Aamaa Milan Kendra, BP Memorial Health Foundation, Environment, Health and Development Advisory Group, Family Planning Association of Nepal, Public Health Concern Trust-Nepal, Samjhauta Nepal and Sunaulo Parivar Nepal were provided bicycles to be used by RHIYA’s staffs and field based peer volunteer educators who provide sexual reproductive health services to youth and adolescents in 19 districts of Nepal.
“The efficiency and effectiveness of RHIYA’s field staffs and volunteers will be increased through the use of the bicycles, saving time and energy,” a press release issued by UNFPA quoted Junko Sazaki, UNFPA’s Representative to Nepal as saying.
JOICFP is a Japanese NGO working in the field of reproductive health and family planning to improve reproductive health status of people living in developing countries.
