Fuel supply eased

The petrol distribution has been eased as Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) managed to bring oil tankers in Kathmandu valley from Sunday. Most of the petrol pumps have resumed to distribute petrol to the customers.

NOC after more than three weeks pumped out 360,000 liters of petrol in the market on Sunday. Similarly, on Monday too, the corporation distributed 180,000 liters of petrol, which is more than the normal daily supply volume.

The NOC made this supply possible through diverting all tankers ferrying the product from Raxaul to the Valley directly. Those tankers had reached the NOC Thankot depot on Sunday, after being escorted through the Madhesi People's Rights Forum imposed border-closure in Birgunj.

President of Nepal Petroleum Dealers Association (NPDA) Shiva Prasad Ghimire said that the situation has gone satisfactorily improved and there was no need for consumers to panic or rush.
