Surya Nepal which was established with the joint venture of Indian and British companies is going to invest additional Rs. 250 billion to expand the trade of garments. Surya Nepal decided to add the investment following the improved political situation of the country.
Managing Director of the company Harshadhab Dhar said that he was optimistic as the signs of appropriate environment for business were seen after the political change of the country which was much troublesome in the past.
He also hopped that trade union disputes would be ended in the days to come. "Political understanding makes positive difference in the labor sector "he said.
Dhar also said that Surya Nepal was forward to seek new opportunities in both national and international market. He also assessed that Nepali garment product faced trouble as the quota system came to an end and it was too dependent to the American and European market.
Surya Nepal has invested Rs. 160 million in garment business so far.
