Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Tuesday has announced to provide Rs 20 million to Saptakoshi flood victims as a relief from the PM Relief Fund.
According to reports, PM prachanda pledged to provide the relief fund during a meeting with Constituent Assembly (CA) members of Sunsari.
At least three people were killed being away swept away by the swollen Saptakoshi river.
There are arround 40,000 people who have been displaced and some 1,000 have gone missing, as most of the western VDCs in the Sunsari district inundated after the water of Saptakoshi river overflowed and eroded the embankments.
Meanwhile, the Tinau river in Butwal swept away more than three dozen residences on Tuesday.
Reports said that at least two persons have been missing in the flood. The local police have intensified rescue operation in the inundated areas, where more than 500 people are waiting for relief.
