Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (MPRF) has threatened to launch fresh protest programs if the government did not implement the agreement reached with it at the earliest.
At a press meet organized in Biratnagar today, MPRF stated that it will launch the third stage of agitation if the government turns deaf ears towards the 22-point agreement signed with the latter on August 30, 2007.
According to the MPRF, the agitation will begin from August 22 that ends on February 4.
Chairman of the MPRF Upendra Yadav said that his party has no intention to foil the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls scheduled for April 10. "But we keep on protesting until our demands are met", said Yadav.
Meanwhile, Yadav also made it clear that the MPRF was willing to join hands with other armed agitating groups in Terai unless they quit violence means to meet their demands.
MPRF has been protesting to press for their demands including autonomy for the Terai with the right to self-determination and an all-out proportional representation system for the CA elections. |
