Life in different parts of the nation was partially affected Tuesday due to the bandh called by the landless people, who are protesting for their land rights.

Demanding their proper rehabilitation, inclusion of land rights in the constitution and setting up of Landless Squatters Commission, the Nepal Basobas Basti Bikas Samaj has imposed countrywide bandh on Tuesday.

Few vehicles were plying in the capital while academic institutions remained shut.

Very few vehicles are entering to capital vie Thankot, police said. There have been reports of demostrations from some areas in Kathmandu.

A report from Chitwan said hundreds of passengers have been stranded in Narayangarh bazaar when traffic came to a halt. Landless squatters staged a demonstration in Narayangarh bazaar this morning. The bazaar remained totally closed.

The bandh affected life partially in Biratnagar. Only few vehicles are plying while schools and industries remained opened.

The Biratnagar bazaar remained opened today. In Saptari, no vehicles are plying on short and long routes. Business centres remained opened.

The bandh also affected life partially in Pokhara, Syangja, Baglung, among other districts.
